Government investigation into takeover...
Controversy arose over the future of the Newport semiconductor plant when the previous Conservative UK government expressed deep national security concerns when the silicon chip plant was bought in July 2021 by Nexperia. Although Dutch-based, this technology company is a subsidiary of Shanghai-listed Wingtech. PROMPT raised concerns about the takeover and after a review, the UK government forced Nexperia to sell its 86% stake in the plant because of its links to China.

Fablink Group - tough times for the motor industry...
2024 PROMPT Business Strategies team play a key role in saving 521 jobs at Fablink. Prompt along with Interpath supported the management team to restructure the business, and in September 2024 backed by Praetura Commercial Finance and TDC Impact Limited Director Richard Westley formed the new venture Wharfside Industrial and Prompt's involvement ended.
January 2025...Sadly the new venture did not succeed and Adminstrators EY have been appointed. This shows just how difficult trading times are for the broader industry which faces mounting pressures as government policies and market dynamics change.
