Green Light for Wadworth Brewery Development - will deliver 102 homes...​
(6th March 2025)
PROMPT have been working with Wadworth and Co Ltd since lockdown, developing and delivering a property strategy including the acquisition and development of the new Folly Road Brewery in Devizes and the realisation of the important Northgate Brewery that Wadworth have occupied since 1875. Mark Bayley (Prompt’s property expert) has helped navigate the complexities of this plan and is delighted that planning permission for part of the Northgate site has been secured. This is an important milestone in Wadworths history (celebrating their 150 years this year). Mark also secured a developer for the listed buildings and there is currently a live planning application that will be considered in the coming months
Newport WaferFab...
Government investigation into takeover...
Controversy arose over the future of the Newport semiconductor plant when the previous Conservative UK government expressed deep national security concerns when the silicon chip plant was bought in July 2021 by Nexperia. Although Dutch-based, this technology company is a subsidiary of Shanghai-listed Wingtech. PROMPT raised concerns about the takeover and after a review, the UK government forced Nexperia to sell its 86% stake in the plant because of its links to China.
